This multimedia installation and performance was created as an homage to and critique of the rehearsed activities and the acquired (yet forgotten) ephemera that is collected throughout childhood. Built from both memory and imagination, the trophy room contained real and fabricated photographs, documents, awards, ribbons, trophies and other related materials.
The extended installation (I Could've Been A Contender, Part II) consisted of a racetrack, a horse jump, a stage, and a soccer goal. As part of this installation, Brandt repeatedly performed various activities for her viewers including singing, dancing, kicking soccer goals, and racing around the track. The performance lasted for approximately 2.5 hours.
